Sinsel’s on the move

Friends

What an awesome 3 months we had with Michiel.  I was challenged on just about every belief system that I have.  I would have to say that Michiel gave me more than we probably gave him.  It is great to be able to have a friend that is moving in the same direction as you are and seeking after the same things from the Lord. Laughing, crying, passionate debates, hours of just hanging out, and late night talks around the fire have given me a wonderful taste of real relationships. Margaret and I are amazed at how easy it was to just have him in our home.  He is part of our family forever. I love the Dutchman!

St.Patrick’s Day

We celebrated St. Patty’s Day with some friends again this year.  For the past 3 year’s we have taken our family to a neighborhood St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  We all get dressed in green and the girl’s take their bicycle’s and decorate them with streamers and balloons.  This year, my dad brought his quadrunner (4 wheeler) and I drove with some kids sitting on the back and sides.  Also, he brought his trailor that he pulled behind his car so Margaret and the girls could ride in there as well. As you see in the picture, I am sporting a Kilt and my friend Tommy has a great green shirt.  Kilt’s rock!!!

Morning devotion

This morning I had the opportunity to share at the Ship’s office. It is always good to remember that our God loves us and has equipped us with everything we need to live this life.  So many times we get bogged down with the tasks of the day and forget how good God is. Maybe you can take some time out today to reflect on the goodness of God and be thankful for all the little things that he shows us about Himself. Today’s devotion came from Colossians 1 and 2 Peter 1.

First Priority 3, Mar, 2008 Rabual, PNG

The job seemed never ending. A smoking volcano close to the berth in Rabaul was regularly coating Doulos in ash and clogging up the vessel’s air conditioning filters. At the same time, crew faced a very separate challenge – welcoming the thousands of people visiting each day. Ship’s personnel from the different onboard work departments volunteered their time to sweep away the ash, enabling others to greet the crowds waiting to see the book fair. With those in line keen to meet members of the international crew, keeping Doulos looking her best became second priority.
