James is writing a book!
Yes, I am writing a book. I have felt in my spirit for a long time that I should write a book. Most of you who know some of our early marriage experinces and the life we live in minstry and with our own little family, we do have a story to tell. This is going to be quite different. The main point of the book is about what our life would look like if we joined God in our relationship instead of just living for Him. He wants us to know that we are not alone and we matter to Him. I do not want to give away too much, so save up your money to purchase it when it is released. It will probably end up being an internet read…who knows. Anyway the title will be “Why live for God when you can live with Him?”
Turbieville Children’s Home ride
Every year our motorcycle group will do a Chirstmas ride for a Children’s home near our town. We have about 50 bikes and 20 different motorcycle associations that come together and bring gifts and a meal to the home. It is so exciting t build an ongoing relationship with the kids and the staff. Giving breeds joy!

After thoughts of Thanksgiving
You know most of the time we really do not focus on what we are thankful for until something happens. For instance, I really do not think about how blessed I am to have a car until it breaks down, or the fact that I am able to see until I read a sign that say, “If you can read this, be thankful”. I know there are a lot of other examples, but i do not want to sing too loud to the choir. I will have to say that my Thanksgiving holiday was very interesting to say the least. I went hiking the weekend before and it was really awesome. It did snow the night before we were to go hiking, so it was simply beautiful on the trail. (Just to chase a rabbit for a second, did you ever think about all the things you can smell…we were on the trail and you could smell the pine trees and wet leaves. You cannot put the real scent in a candle!) Sorry to digress, but on with my thoughts. Anyway, we took the wrong trail and we were kinda lost, but we figured out where we were about halfway into our hike. Next time we will conquer Bee Mountain. I found out on that Sunday that my uncle had passed away, so I unpacked and repacked and headed to Wilmington to be with my dad and the family. Let’s just say it is always sad to lose someone you love. Then back home on Wednesday night because Margaret’s family was coming to eat the bird with us. When all was said and done we had 8 kids and 8 adults at our home. We are the only ones with girls, so I was a little excited to have some testosterone around the house. The ladies awoke at 4am to hit the stores on black Friday. Saturday was a festive time of getting out the Christmas decorations and trimming the tree. Sunday we drove to the Rock Church in Greenwood and presented the ministry to Pastor Joseph Johnson’s congregation. Awesome church! We were warmly welcomed and the church building was a throwback to England with the stone structure. the church was originally founded in 1776. Lots of fun history. Then we loaded up and headed home so the girls could sleep before school on Monday. Let’s just say, it is good to be home for a while. In about 2 weeks we will be getting back into the van and travel to Florida to connect with friends and family for the holidays. Ohhh my goodness, I am so looking forward to 2009.
